The Wooden Core was inspired by growing up in a Midwest farming community and the culture that comes along with it. I was constantly surrounded by hardworking determined Americans who were proud of where they came from and the work that they accomplished, that pride showed through in many facets of their lived including the clothing they wore. I inherited heirloom clothing from my grandparents as well as my parents and I found that that level of quality goods was lost on my generation. These jackets and jeans could withstand 2+ generations of hard work, and they were beautiful for it.
Thus, I set out to create a clothing line that could live up to the expectations of our grandparents and reflect back that American Pride.
The Wooden Core was born, durable high quality goods that brought communities together. All the fabric in the line was grown, manufactured, and sewn here in the U.S.
The denim came from White Cone Mills, the cotton from Virginia and Near Sea Naturals, the wool felting and yarns from local Minnesota farmers, and the leather from repurposed horse bridles.
Because all of us have a wooden core that grows from our heritage.
The Wooden Core was awarded Best Menswear by a panel of industry representatives at the Silhouettes Fashion Show in 2014.
It was nominated for Best Casual Wear and Best Technical Achievement in Construction
